RidgeRunner Acquires Farm
in Jackson County, TN
for Planned Agrihood

RidgeRunner is pleased to announce that we’ve been entrusted to steward the next chapter of Brewington Farms in Whitleyville, Tennessee.  It’s among the most pristine and beautiful farms in the region and we intend to keep it that way. Under our care this jewel of Jackson County will retain its longstanding name.

RidgeRunner’s development philosophy strives to protect naturally occurring features in the properties and local, historic manners of land use. Our plan will preserve the property’s striking vistas that have made it an iconic farm in the region–its fertile fields, its rushing creek, and its soaring ridge tops that frame the valley.

Our company’s approach prioritizes preserving traditional land use and we are grateful for the opportunity to put our values into action on such a magnificent property. To the extent feasible, we intend to keep the broad fields surrounding Jennings Creek as a home for a farming operation with protections against future development. The fields will be filled with livestock as God intended and as Jackson County remembers. Our goal will be to preserve the sweeping views for those who build and live on the farm’s ridgetops.

Our final plans are forthcoming. We anticipate selling estate-style parcels with a portion reserved for various businesses and community amenities. In the first instance, we will sell a parcel to the forthcoming Whitleyville Reformation Church  for the construction of an architecturally significant church building, creating a visual centerpiece for the valley.

We will establish tasteful and regionally authentic architectural guidelines for homes built on the property to fit regional styles. Buildings and homes here will blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. We strongly encourage buyers to use local building companies to construct their homes. Lots will be available for sale in late Q1/early Q2 of 2025. If you’re interested, complete our prospective buyer form.

Thank you,

Joshua Abbotoy

Developing Town & Country Charter Communities in Appalachia

Our Highland Rim community is situated in one of the nation’s most pristine and under-the-radar regions: the Highland Rim of Tennessee and Kentucky. This area features abundant hunting opportunities, bucolic farmland, clean rivers, premier trout fishing and much more.

Moving into a RidgeRunner community means you are pioneering a new model for local life in America, on America’s oldest frontier. Your neighbors are people who are chasing a self-determinative life and a return to a more natural human way of living for themselves and their families. This project draws people who are interested in building new businesses and civic and cultural institutions together with neighbors who share the same vision.

We select our locations based on natural beauty, affordability, politics and local culture. Buying in one of our communities is an opportunity to pick a place where you can set down roots for the long haul while being part of a thick, growing community of people who’ve also answered the same call.

Longhollow Acres

Longhollow Acres is a rolling 550-acre farm situated six miles northeast of Burkesville, and about half a mile to the river.

Longhollow Acres is a perfect example of the geographical of the Highland Rim Escarpment, with dry oaky ridges at approximately 1,000 feet above sea level rolling down to fertile bottom land fields around 600 feet of elevation. The long, twisting valleys between ridgetops – called “hollers” by those in the know – form very private fortresses where you can enjoy unmatched seclusion in the thick hardwood forests. These unexplored areas often contain springs, creeks, and even waterfalls and they will shield you from the noise and buzz of the world outside.
